May Jesus Christ, the voice that speaks peace, be with you!

How appropriate the scripture readings for today's Mass.  They speak to us about the troubled society of their time; the days of the Old Testament and New Testament writers.  The prophet Habakkuk and St. Paul speak of the evil and chaos that existed, even then.

In our present society, we continue to see history repeating itself.  There is much evil and chaos looming around us today.  The realities of crime, violence, greed, war, terrorism, and hopelessness exist.

However, reflecting on today's readings, we are encouraged to hold onto faith.  Let today's sacred word strengthen our faith and urge us to proclaim justice and peace to a suffering world.
