May Jesus Christ who brings salvation to the world, be with you!
Although Christmas day is over, we continue this liturgical season of Christmas. Our decorated homes with our Christmas trees, lights and display of cards... are all reminders to us. They are reminders that Jesus is truly the reason for the season. The exchange of Christmas cards, gifts and greeetings is only a part of the celebration of Christmas. For the real reason for celebrating Christmas, is that the Son of God comes to our world! Out of love for God the Father and for all humanity, Jesus comes in the flesh to be one with us. He comes to us as our Savior, healer, comforter, and guide. For this, we celebrate Christmas and we offer praise and thanks to Jesus!
We also offer thanks to Mary, Mother of Jesus and Josesph, His father. The creation of this Holy Family is a sign of hope for all families. While the Holy Family struggled with life issues: homelessness, fear, anxiety, not knowing about the future... they remained in faith and hope.
Many families today live with life-changing experiences. As people of faith, may we include in our daily prayers, families of today. Let us pray that families may look to the Holy Family for signs of hope, faith, encouragement, and inspiration.
