May Jesus Christ, our light and joy, be with you!

Once again, we have much to ponder.  Our scripture readings challenge us and call us to be salt of the earth and light of the world.  They challenge us to be a beacon of hope for our Church, community, family, friends, and all with whom we come in contact.

Today's scripture readings challenge us to keep God's word burning in our hearts.  When this happens, then we are compelled to speak out for justice, mercy, hope, love and forgiveness.

Many of the people we honor and acknowledge during this Black History Month were, and continue to be, a beacon of hope to many.  We thank those who paved the way for so many people.  Their persistence, vision , integrity, and dreams are an example of being the salt of the earth and lignt to the world.

Let us pray that the word of God proclaimed this day will strengthen us on our earthly pilgrimage.  May we go forth, being a beacon of hope, salt of the earth and light to the world!
