May Jesus Christ, who promises us the gift of the Holy Spirit, be with you!

We are quickly coming to the end of the Easter season.  During this Easter season we listened to the scripture readings and how Jesus Christ continued to make His presence known.  To those to whom He appeared, He offered encouragement and empowered them to "go out and tell the Good News!"

Jesus also encouraged them to remain faithful to God's word in their speech, action, and service to all people.  He also reminded them to remain devoted to their prayer life.

We are reminded, as well, to remain devoted to our prayer life.  As members of the body of Christ, we are called to a life of prayer: alone and together.  If we have neglected daily prayer or failed to serve those Jesus entrusted to our care, may that gift of the Holy spirit touch us in a special way to remind us of our obligation to pray for ourselves and many who are in need of prayer.

So many people and causes can be placed in our prayer intentions.  The sick, the dying, the hopeless, those struggling with life issues...all  can rely on our prayers.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, may we always be faithful to our prayer life.
