May Jesus Christ, who strengthens us through his body and blood, be with you!
Today, the universal Catholic Church celebrates the core and center of our liturgical movement. We celebrate the sacred Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus’s word offers us hope and wisdom. His Body and Blood offers us spiritual strength. In and through his Body and Blood, we become one with him and he with us.
In talking about our unity in Christ, St. Paul says that we are like grains of wheat that have been brought together to form one loaf. It’s a beautiful image. The Eucharist celebrates and strengthens our unity in Christ.
Though we are many, with our thoughts, ideas, levels of faith and convictions, when we partake of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we are formed into the true Body of Christ. Our membership lies in Christ Jesus.
May we remember that Jesus Christ dwells in us whenever we receive him in his Body and Blood. May we remember that we are spiritually bound together in Christ, who also strengthens and nourishes us on our journey.
