May Jesus Christ, the source of strength and nourishment for our souls, be with you!

We heard this week from President Obama about the deficit crisis our country is experiencing.  There is much tension and cautious decision making from our political leaders in Washington.  They seem to be playing the "political game" with each other, at the expense of the U.S. citizens.  Unfortunately, there seems to be a breakdown of commuinication among those in leadership roles.

Fortunately, as people of faith, who may at times journey through life with caution, tension, and anxiety, we know that we can turn to our spiritual leader, Jesus Christ.  He is a faithful leader who cares for us and "answers all our needs."  Jesus does not play the "spiritual game" with us.  What God offers us is so precious that it is worth everything we have.  Jesus does not offer us lip service.  He offers us His Body and Blood and eternal life.  As Saint Paul reminds us, "there is nothing that can separate us from God's love that comes to us in Christ Jesus."

May we always turn to Jesus Christ who nourishes us on our journey.  May we not doubt His faithfulness to us and His true love and concern for us.
