May Jesus Christ, who fully supplies whatever we need, be with you!
We gather once again around the Word of God to listen to another parable. After hearing God's word, we are nourished by His body and blood. We never know what to expect during the week, and for this reason, we rejoice to receive Jesus Christ in Holy Communion and open ourselves to His words of wisdom, and perhaps, to His challenges. All in all, this meeting in the Eucharist, helps us to make it through the week. During the week we can reflect on the scripture passage which sustains us and carries us each day.
The parable for today reminds us that Christ's banquet is always prepared for us. When we come to His banquet (Mass), hopefully, we are prepared to receive Him with all our mind, strength and love. If there is a need for change in our lifestyle, God's words of wisdom can help us.
The parable of the wedding feast also reminds us that God is calling us to a deeper and more authentic life. He is also calling us to a deeper relationship with Him and our community of faith.
May we always respond to God's call and invitation to gather in His name and with each other. May His words of wisdom and the gift of Himself in Holy Communion encourage us to continue to grow spiritually and develop a deeper relationship with Him and each other.
