Pastor's Message- October 23
Friday, October 21, 2011 03:36 PM

May Jesus Christ, the eternal sign of the love of the Father, be with you!

For several weeks we have listened to Jesus speaking to the people in parables.  He did this so the people would take the time to think about what he was saying.  The parables are meant to be thought provoking.

Today's Gospel message is clear and to the point:  We shoud love the Lord with all our being, and our neighbor as ourselves.  This commandment cannot be any clearer.  To separate the two commandments is a tragedy and is clean contrary to the Gospel..Jesus did not say that they were the same thing, but that they are like two sides of the one coin.  If we want the total Gospel we must live both.

This can be very challenging for us.  We can LOVE GOD as the commandment instructed us, but we may have difficulties WITH OUR NEIGHBOR!

We pray for the grace, courage, and strength to live according to Jesus' instructions, even as challenging and difficult as they may be.

Peace,

Msgr. Britto
