May Jesus Christ, the source of our joy and happiness be with you!
As the weather and the seasoon, guickly shift from one to another, we make preparations for these changes. We are putting away our summer attire and bringing out our winter clothes. We are filling up our oil tanks for heat in our homes, or bringing out the electric heaters to cut costs on the oil bill. The leaves are quickly dropping and the squirrels are frantically gathering their nuts for the winter. Yes, preparations are slowly beginning.
Preparations are also being made with the changes in the Mass. Beginning on the First Sunday of Advent, we will notice changes with the wordings at Mass. It will take some getting used to, but as time goes on, we will adjust. Our Parish staff continues to assist parishioners to notice and understand the changes. We have done this through our Bible Study Groups, Evening of Adult Faith Formation, Sunday School and Children's Church. Other opportunities are planned for parishioners to help prepare for the changes at Mass.
While changes continue to occur in our daily life, one thing does not change: the love and covenant Jesus Christ made with us. His love is everlasting. There are distractions in our lives that can detour us from that covenant with Jesus. We are challenged always to look to Jesus and hold onto and develop a deeper covenant with Him.
May we continue be formed in the pattern of Christ, and not change with the seasons or fluctuating life issues. May we always make Jesus Christ number one in our lives and strive to live out His commands.
