Easter Sunday 2010
Friday, April 02, 2010 12:02 AM
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad!"
Taken from Psalm 118, this verse is the theme for this Easter Sunday and the entire season of Easter. We rejoice, knowing that sin and death have no power over us, as long as we have faith in Jesus Christ.
During our forty days of Lent, we offered alms, performed works of charity and renewed our relationship with God. Our journey of Lent may have been difficult at times, but our faith in Jesus Christ has brought us through to sing that wonderful song: "The strife is o'er, the battle done; now is the Victor's triumph won; Now let the song of praise begun: Alleluia!"
We give praise and thanks to Jesus Christ for His faithfulness to God the Father and to us. He promised a victory and it has been won. So, whatever anxiety you have, bring it to Jesus and He will make a way for you.
Through His resurrection, we have been saved. Therefore, we rejoice and sing: "Alleluia!"
On behalf of our resident priests and parish staff, we wish you a Happy and Blessed Easter.
