Pastor's Message- April 25
Friday, April 23, 2010 08:49 AM
May Jesus Christ, our loving and compassionate shepherd who leads us to eternal life, be with you!
Today's scripture readings and theme, speak to us about listening to the One who can keep us on the right track and lead us in honesty, justice, truth, and faith.
This past week, our country and the civil rights movement lost a powerful voice and servant. Dorothy Height stood up for the rights of the underprivileged, the poor, women in general, and respect for all human rights. Like conscience guided leaders of the past (Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Dorothy Day, St. Katherine Drexel, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta), Dorothy Height was a voice of conscience. They were also instruments of Jesus Christ.
The theme for today challenges us to be a voice of conscience, leading others to faith, kindness, and respect for all people.
May we always listen to the voice of Jesus Christ who will steer and guide us in the right direction. And may we pay attention to those whom Jesus calls as His voice of justice, kindness, respect, mercy and love.
