Pastor's Message- August 1
Tuesday, August 03, 2010 08:47 AM
May Jesus Christ, who leads us to everlasting life, be with you!
The readings for today's Mass are a true challenge for all of us, especially in today's society. There is a tendency when tragedy occurs in our lives, to turn quicky to God for help; or if something unfortunate happens to us, we blame God. Some people turn to God only when He is needed.
Our readings for today remind us that we should always keep our eyes fixed on God: in good times as well as in difficult times. God is always present to us, and cares for us; even cares for those who have not yet acknowledged his presence.
The message of today's scripture readings is quite simple: keep your eyes fixed on Christ Jesus rather than on the possessions of this world. Let us allow this challenging word of God to penetrate and change our hearts. For this kind of change, we rely on the power of the Holy Spirit who is ever present in us and protects us on our journey.
